Posted: Poetry, however, does not have to capture the pleasant, but rather the essence and soul of the everyday experience. In reading this, I found the philosophical questions and unique answers captivating. One poem surprises us with an exception to Newton's law of gravity. Other poems take every day objects to ponder the meaning and use of the object and whether or not it is simply what it appears to be. Another question I found myself asking; are we looking through the world with glass eyes with a new understanding that emptiness is not all it appears to be? The poetry herein leans toward the philosophical and deeper meanings to be found in every day life. |
